2015 Chat with Sanborn at October's Kryptos' Dinner
I had some time to chat with Jim and want to ask about the courtyard pieces...I said..All the pieces had some symbolism, but Jim has never mentioned the symbolism behind the reflective pool. I did rambled on about some deep theory that I had ...and he laughed and said 'No, no, there is no symbolism there...it was simply made for functionality of the space ...that the employees needed somewhere to sit and relax'.I contested about how it might have been the equivalent to the listening post/code room à reflective pool/whirlpool ...he reiterated... 'Nope, that came much later.'
