APRIL 2020

The Kryptos group in Groups.io, formerly known as Yahoo Groups has just found out that Jim Sanborn had released another clue back in April 2020, but was just confirmed on August 23, 2020 by Jim in a email to Bill Briere.

Sukhwant Singh of the group brought this to the members' attention on the 16th. The 22nd to 25th characters, which read FLRV, will read EAST when decoded.

Sukhwant shared his correspondance with Jim. Below is a screenshot of the pdf.

With the prepended new plaintext clue we get EASTNORTHEAST (EAST-NORTHEAST), which happens to be the way the compass-rose needle points.

Jim Sanborn, the sculptor, told The New York Times in 2020 that the 26th to 34th characters, which read QQPRNGKSS, will read NORTHEAST when decoded.

Mr. Sanborn gave the Times a third clue: the 26th through 34th positions, which read QQPRNGKSS, will read NORTHEAST when decoded.

This week, Mr. Sanborn gave the Times a second clue: the 70th through 74th positions, which read MZFPK, will read CLOCK when decoded.
